    dearest reader,

    woke up today to the sound of kenzie stomping into our room to try and cycle the power this morning, because the power had dropped again during the night. the power has been on and off since we arrived, which in a way has been a nice thing to witness because it really shows the need for what we’re doing on this trip and the benefit of these long hot days on the roof wiring up solar panels.

    what a crazy week (cue humberto’s voice). for real though. what a week. one that felt like a year while at the same time only feeling like a day. it is quite literally impossible to recap all that we saw, heard, and experienced but i will do my best to give you a glimpse into it. the lord was so faithful to meet us each individually, provide us with exactly what we needed in every moment, and used us all in so many different ways.

  • stories from baja (med) spring break 2023

              we had a very successful trip with the lipscomb bajamed team from march 9 - 18, 2023. our team of 30 included medical providers, a pharmacist, support staff, pre-professional undergraduate students, nursing students, and graduate students in pharmacy. throughout the week, we were able to provide medical, dental and vision care for 542 patients.

  • ecuador spring break 2023 - ava decker's story

    march 24, 2023

    my team of 12 lipscomb students and 2 leaders left for tabacundo, ecuador on march 10, 2023. we were traveling to the hacienda of hope, which is a home for kids who have been placed there by the ecuadorian cps. we woke up early and traveled by car, plane, and bus all day until we arrived at the hacienda of hope on that friday night. the next morning, our hosts took us to the marketplace in otavalo – one of the biggest open markets in the world. this was really cool to experience, and we were all very grateful that our hosts could take the time out of their day to show us around.

    in the years following the second world war, a few returning servicemen and their families began to meet on sundays in the old army barracks alongside the airstrip at nashville's berry field. this church did not have an official building or name. they were  christians called to relationship and worship.
