  • summer engineering teams - a look back

    the peugeot center continued to live out the kingdom of god through their ministry of engineering this summer. in may, over 30 students traveled on four teams to three countries. they worked alongside four host partner organizations on engineering projects that will enhance the lives of the communities they serve. before we gear up for another year of engineering missions, we want to take a look back at all god has accomplished this summer!

    the medical mission trip to honduras with lipscomb college of pharmacy was a profound and enriching experience. each day, we traveled to a new clinic, offering essential medical care and spiritual support to the local communities. the impact we made was significant, as we addressed various health needs. in addition to the clinical work, we had the opportunity to visit jovenes en camino, a boys' children's home. here, we spent our free time playing and bonding with the boys, creating memorable moments and forming meaningful connections.

    our team had the opportunity to return to nicaragua and serve alongside the workers and volunteers of mission para cristo in a variety of ways. through the hands of christ, we were able to medically serve a multitude of residents all over the area with the help of each student and doctor on the team. this allowed us to provide necessary medical attention and medications to hundreds of residents. we witnessed what true gratefulness and compassion were throughout this week during each interaction between patient and worker.

    honduras is a place that has brought me constant joy over the past couple of years. not necessarily because of the things there but because of the way the lord works and the way he works through his people.

    this spring break was my second time going to honduras to serve. over the course of that time, i have gotten to keep in touch with many of the hondurans we have the opportunity to work with. the relational aspect of this trip is probably my favorite and always serves as a constant reminder that the lord’s love has no language barriers.

  • cozumel spring break 2024 - toska holsopple's story

     joy. we often use this word to describe happiness, yet that’s not exactly right. joy is an emotion that makes sense, a feeling of hope during trials, and pure joy can truly only be found in god. this week, through serving the children, staff, and house parents of ciudad de angeles in cozumel, mexico, i saw and understood joy for the first time. during our time at ciudad de angeles, our team interacted with children from different backgrounds, who spoke a different language, and found a place of hope despite their circumstances.

    the first day we were there we got a tour of the land. it was absolutely breathtaking. kathy informed me that the property used to be a dairy farm but they acquired the land in 2003, and have been building ever since. the children were overjoyed to see us when we arrived to the school. many of the children were enjoying a snack outside, all the littles ran up to abby and savanna. many of the children put out their hands to give us high fives. we immediately started on our work project and we were thrilled to start painting.
