high rise hall

high rise is the largest men’s dorm on campus.

renovated in the summer of 2015, high rise is lipscomb's largest residence hall and is located just a few steps from allen arena. it has eight floors and houses 375 male residents. each floor has two shared bathrooms with showers.

high rise has a community kitchen, several tv lounge areas, a vending machine, pool table, ping pong table and foosball table. the first floor has a laundry room with 12 washers and dryers that students can use for free (but bring your own detergent).

room dimensions

all rooms are double occupancy and approximately 17’ x 10.6' in size.

windows are 38” w x 55” l. each room comes with blinds, but some choose to add a curtain. a tension rod for curtains works best. rooms ending in 09, 10, 16, 17, 27, 28, 34, 35 have two windows (except 317 and 327).

furnishings

each student will have a:

twin bed with xl mattress, 80” clearance underneath bed that can be set to multiple heights (lofting kits available)
wardrobe (36” w x 79” h x 22” d)
dresser (36” w x 30.5” h x 22” d)
bookshelf (30” w x 30” h x 12” d)
desk (42” w x 30” h x 22” d) with chair

tips

talk to your roommate about who will bring the refrigerator, microwave, tv and any other large chairs or futon type furniture.
command strips work well on the block walls for hanging items.
if you would like carpet in your room, we recommend an 8'x10' carpet or rug as opposed to a carpet that fits the full room.
