sen. ferrell haile, r-district 18 is a 1969 graduate from gallatin and sen. kerry roberts r-district 25 from springfield, graduated in 1983 with a bachelor of science degree in accounting, return to their elected posts in the state senate.
in the tennessee house, rep. mark white and rep. bo mitchell return. white, r-district 83 from memphis, graduated in may 2018 with a master of arts degree in conflict management. mitchell, d-district 50 from nashville, is a 1992 graduate with a bachelor of arts degree in political science. rep. michael curcio, r-district 69 from dickson, is a 2001 lipscomb academy graduate.
joining one of the largest freshman classes on the hill in more than 50 years are newly elected representatives brandon ogles and bob freeman. ogles, r-district 61 from franklin, graduated in 1999 with a bachelor of science in management. freeman, d-district 56 from nashville, is a 2012 graduate with a master of science degree in sustainability.
they are part of a 132-member legislature that will discuss numerous bills on a variety of significant topics under the leadership of newly elected tennessee governor bill lee, who will take the oath of office on jan. 19.
