america’s water problems will be the subject of a public lecture by world class hydrologist opoku-duah at lipscomb on feb. 29.

the college of liberal arts and sciences presents the langford professor public lecture featuring stephen opoku-duah, professor, chair of the department of chemistry and biochemistry, and langford endowed professor of chemistry at lipscomb. his lecture with the topic, “ongoing water crises in the usa: trends, failures and solutions,” will be held on thursday, february 29, 5:30-7:00 p.m., in ward hall. 

opoku-duah (popularly called dr. od by his students) was born in ghana, where he completed a b.sc. degree in engineering science at the kwame nkrumah university of science & technology. he obtained a m.sc. degree in water chemistry at wageningen university (the netherlands) and ph.d. from durham university (great britain). for the past 29 years, opoku-duah has worked to become a class leading hydrologist, chemist and faculty member at the university of ghana, durham university, ohio valley university and 世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 . his inspiring journey from an impoverished child to a contributing academician in his chosen field of chemistry is told in his book, transcended: story of an african science professor changing lives in america. 

the lecture is free and open to the public.
