世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 chair of the department of music sally reid is one of three featured composers in a project to explore the effect of musical film scores on audiences.

score_underscore!, a live performance of three compositions each written for a documentary about the same silent film, is part of the sacred space for the city arts series, a collaboration of the nashville composers association, the nashville film festival and filmnashville. it is designed to explore how music sets the tone and feel of a movie and how composers approach their films.

the performance will be 7:30 p.m., friday, nov. 13, at christ church cathedral, 900 broadway, downtown nashville. a reception to meet the composers will follow the performance.

reid has created commissioned works for numerous musical organizations throughout the world as well as for historical documentaries. she received the bledsoe award in 2008 for music written for the historical documentary, dry gulcher down.

reid’s composition for the project will be performed alongside the works of nashville composers dr. scott hallgren and rachel fogarty.

each composer wrote a score for a short film including footage of the early 20th century animated silent film sinking of the lusitania. in addition, all three composers wrote music for another film, a short good-bye, by german filmmaker arpad bondy. while the audience views the films, the scores will be performed live by local musicians in various instrument combinations and in different styles following the composer’s instructions.

score_underscore! is sponsored by friends of the cathedral.  general admission is $10 and $5 for students. advance tickets are available at www.christcathedral.org/sacredspace/ticketsales, or by calling 615-255-7729.
