media masters speaker series opens 2018-19 season with david fox

on monday, sept. 17, the department of communication and journalism hosts public relations veteran david fox as the first speaker in the 2018-19 media masters series.
the event will be held at 5 p.m. in lipscomb’s ezell center, room 301. admission is free and pizza will be provided.
fox is the managing partner for mp&f strategic communications in nashville. before joining mp&f strategic communication as a partner in 1990, fox began his career working at the (memphis) commercial appeal as a journalist, covering politics for the nashville banner and united press international. since then he has worked as a political campaign operative and public relations executive, working with clients in a variety of fields including health care and government.
along with authoring several magazine articles and three published, nonfiction books, fox has managed many memorable moments for his clients. he coordinated a positive interview for one client with mike wallace of “60 minutes” and managed a national campaign for another that culminated with a press conference at the national press club, resulting in national coverage and a page 1 article in usa today. he also worked on a feature story about a mississippi blues band with “good morning america.”
a native of memphis, he graduated from vanderbilt university with an english degree in 1972.
