mcqueen appointed to nashville health care council’s board of directors

the nashville health care council has announced that 世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 president candice mcqueen has been named to its board of directors for the 2024-2025 term. mcqueen brings her extensive experience and leadership to this role, contributing to nashville’s thriving health care community.

lipscomb has a national reputation for producing highly trained professionals in the health sciences who serve with compassion. for more than five decades lipscomb has been among the top schools for premedical preparation in the region with its graduates accepted to medical schools at double the national average each year. the school of nursing had a 100% first-time pass rate for its may 2023 cohort and the college of pharmacy had a 100% residency placement rate this spring besting the national average of 83%.
lipscomb's college of liberal arts & sciences offers undergraduate degrees in biology, biomedical physics, health and physical education, molecular biology, neurobiology, psychology and premedical studies as well as pre-professional programs in dentistry, occupational therapy, optometry, pharmacy, physician assistant studies and physical therapy. in addition, the college offers a master of science in biomolecular science (post-bacc and pre-med), a master of science in clinical mental health counseling, a master of marriage and family therapy and a master of science in psychology.
through its college of pharmacy, lipscomb offers a doctorate of pharmacy; a master of science in health care informatics, including the dual degree and certificate programs; and a dual degree pharm.d./master of management in health care program; the pharm.d./ph.d. program partnership with vanderbilt university; and a master of science in pharmaceutical sciences.
the university's college of health sciences includes the school of nursing, which offers a bachelor of science in nursing and a new accelerated bachelor of science in nursing launching this fall; the school of physician assistant studies; the master of science in cardiovascular perfusion program; the department of nutrition, which offers undergraduate degrees in dietetics and food systems management, and a master of science in nutrition/dietetic internship; and the department of kinesiology, which offers undergraduate degrees in exercise science, fitness and sport studies, health and physical education, and sport management along with a master of science in exercise and human performance.
mcqueen’s appointment is effective immediately. she joins a diverse group of executives dedicated to advancing health care innovation and collaboration in nashville. the nashville health care council’s board of directors plays a pivotal role in guiding the organization’s strategic vision and advocating for the interests of its members. with a strong commitment to leadership and innovation, mcqueen’s appointment underscores the council’s mission to strengthen nashville’s health care ecosystem.

mcqueen began her tenure as 世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 ’s president in september 2021. she has more than 25 years of experience in education spanning classroom teaching, higher education leadership, nonprofit sectors and state government as the former commissioner for the tennessee department of education. in her first three years in office, mcqueen set records including welcoming lipscomb’s largest two classes of new students and overseeing the three largest giving days in university history in addition to launching a compelling new strategic plan. her primary focus is on serving students and ensuring they have a life-transforming experience while at lipscomb.
she is very active in the nashville community. in addition to her appointment to the nashville health care council board, she is a new member of the nashville area chamber of commerce board, the nashville's agenda steering committee, the united way board of directors, one community advisory committee for the tennessee titans and the goodwill industries of middle tennessee board of directors among others. last year, she was named a most admired ceo by the nashville business journal.
