世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 ’s mcclure center for faith and science presents april cordero, dean of educational effectiveness and professor of biology at point loma nazarene university, as the featured speaker in its annual lecture on faith and science.
she will discuss "science and faith: a life lived at the crossroads” at the lecture set for wednesday, march 8 at 6 p.m. in the mcfarland science center’s ward lecture hall. the event is free and open to the public.
cordero’s research has focused on developing more effective approaches for teaching biology that enabled students to develop not only factual knowledge, but biological ways of thinking and reasoning about the living world. as a christian biologist trained in science education research, she was in a unique position to investigate science students’ perceptions of the relationship between scientific issues that evoke controversy, such as human origins and evolution, and christian faith. she is the co-author of a recently released book, what about evolution?: a biologist, pastor, and theologian answer your questions and also co-authored renewal in love: living holy lives in god's good creation. cordero is a fellow of the american scientific association and serves on the speakers bureau and board of directors for the biologos organization. she continues to conduct research, speaks at churches and universities across the nation about the integration of faith and science, and is active in several professional development projects with schoolteachers as well as university faculty.
