giving day 2024: a record-breaking 24-hours of generosity

giving day 2024 is one for the books, thanks to the overwhelming support and generosity of lipscomb alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends. it was a day filled with enthusiasm, optimism and a lot of fun as the lipscomb community rallied together to surpass this year’s ambitious goals.

the sixth annual giving day, held on feb. 22, topped previous records and set new benchmarks for philanthropic engagement. the ambitious goal of receiving gifts from 3,700 donors during the 24-hour fundraiser was not only met but shattered with 4,320 donors, resulting in a remarkable total of $2,795,564 in donations and marking another year surpassing the $2 million milestone. the ambassadors program set a new record this year with over 300 ambassadors signing up, which is 100 more than the previous year, to help motivate their circles of influence to participate in the fundraising event.

the spirit of generosity extended across various affiliations within the lipscomb community, with alumni emerging as prominent leaders in philanthropic support. university alumni led the pack with an impressive 1,213 donors, followed by faculty/staff with 495 donors and university parents with 474 donors. individual colleges saw significant participation, with the college of liberal arts & sciences, the college of business and the college of health sciences topping the leaderboard with support from donors.

units and programs that support the university’s mission also received substantial backing, showcasing the diversity of interests and passions within the lipscomb community. from 世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 athletics to lifelong learning and ideal, donors demonstrated their commitment to various initiatives driving the university’s mission forward.

in recognition of their exceptional dedication and commitment to the cause, top ambassadors for giving day 2024 were acknowledged for their outstanding contributions. mark jobe and perry moore, faculty in the college of business, and scott baker, outreach coordinator for the george shinn college of entertainment & the arts, emerged as frontrunners, representing the lipscomb community’s spirit of generosity and dedication.

the reach of giving day extended far beyond campus, with gifts pouring in from 44 states as well as from alberta and ontario, canada and the district of columbia. this widespread support underscores the enduring connections of the university’s alumni and supporters.

central to the success of giving day was the concerted effort and meticulous planning of the office of advancement team, under the leadership of keith hinkle, senior vice president for advancement. the annual giving team, spearheaded by stephanie carroll, assistant vice president for annual giving and alumni and parent engagement, motivated support on campus and fostered a sense of community among donors. the hard work of individuals such as bethany perala, rhonda minton as well as eric adams and sheron davidson with the lipscomb academy advancement team contributed significantly to the day’s achievements.
