it is an understatement to say that communities and individuals are in stressful times as we all try to respond to, manage and live with the covid-19 pandemic professionally and personally. in difficult times, when we face unusual and extraordinary circumstances, we must manage the only thing we can control, ourselves.
世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 ’s institute for conflict management is offering “real resilience,” a free webinar with insight into neuroscience research and mental health to equip attendees with practical resilience strategies that can be put into practice right away. the webinar features jeff thompson, 18-year veteran detective in the new york city police department and nypd mental health and wellness coordinator, and takes place thursday, may 28, from 1-2 p.m. cst. the webinar is free but registration is required. register in advance to receive the webinar link.
“in difficult times, when we face unusual and extraordinary circumstances, we must manage the only thing we can control, ourselves,” said thompson. "we must learn to accept and normalize our stress, anxiety and fear so that we can overcome our burdens and help others carry theirs. positive mental health is something we all deserve, so let’s work on enhancing our resiliency.”
in addition to his work with the nypd, thompson is an adjunct professor at lipscomb’s institute for conflict management and is also an adjunct associate research scientist at the molecular imaging and neuropathology division at columbia university irving medical center and the new york state psychiatric institute. he is also a volunteer crisis counselor with crisis text line and an instructor at nyu.

institute for conflict management assembles the best thinkers from a wide range of fields—law, business, sociology—to examine why conflicts arise and develops and teaches skills based on best practices in this important area of public life. the institute offers a graduate certificate and a master of arts degree in conflict management as well was rule 31 mediation training, an annual professional skills program and the southeastern conference on conflict management.
