the 世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 college of entertainment & the arts has been ranked no. 2 in the nation for its visual arts programs in the “top 10 christian college visual arts programs 2017” ranking recently released by christian universities online.

lipscomb ranked above calvin college, azusa pacific university, bethel university (minnesota), cedarville university, college of the ozarks, houghton college, messiah college and mississippi college. union university was ranked top on the list.

the ranking comes in just the second year of existence for the college of entertainment & the arts, which launched in fall 2014.  schools are ranked based on number of undergraduate and graduate visual arts degrees, faculty-to-student ratio, scholarship and financial aid availability, selectivity, overall retention rate and overall graduation rate.

fernandez_250"this ranking is not only a reflection of the quality of education taking place in our college but also an affirmation that our notion of christian arts training in the 21st century is on the mark,” said mike fernandez, dean of the college of entertainment & the arts. “we’ve formed a college whose mission is to train independent, entrepreneurial artists to create uplifting, challenging and entertaining content for the marketplace. to achieve that students certainly need to have excellent training in fields they are gifted in but we also encourage them to be interdisciplinary in their artistry.”

“we want artists of all types around each other from day one,” he continued. “this creates a proximity effect where creativity and collaboration lead to innovation. we also want them thinking as entrepreneurs. the industry is changing in many ways and we have them think early and often about trends so that they can be thought leaders and cutting-edge entrepreneurs. being in one of the country's top entertainment cities, nashville, also gives us access to some of the top artists and entertainment companies in the world. add these aspects together with lipscomb's deep commitment to faith and we believe we have a college that can train students to have a sustainable career and hopefully profound cultural impact with their artistry."

the ranking is designed to “highlight christian schools that excel in their educational offerings in the fine arts,” said anna-rebekah orr, christian universities online editor.

“christian colleges and universities that specialize in the fine arts—whether visual, film, music or theater—are doing the important work of training the next generation of artists to produce edifying content for the current market,” said orr. “studying the fine arts within the context of a christian community challenges students to think critically about human creativity and how creative works have the potential to be informed by faith. christian schools that are cultivating strong programs in the arts and exploring the questions of how christians can best engage with culture offer aspiring christian artists a unique environment in which to develop their talent.”
