circulation policies

checkout privileges are granted to lipscomb faculty, staff, and students when presenting their lipscomb id. alumni and retired faculty may also check out print books after applying for a bison borrower card online.  beaman library allows the greater community to come into our building and use the print resources in-house. 

books: circulation policies for current students, faculty and staff
  • for undergraduate students, the loan period for books is 21 days with a total of 3 renewals allowed.  undergraduate students may check out 50 books at a time.
  • for graduate students, the loan period for books is 28 days with a total of 3 renewals allowed.  graduate students may check out 50 books at a time.
  • for faculty and staff, the loan period for books is 16 weeks with 1 renewal allowed.  faculty and staff may check out 50 books at a time.
  • renewals can be processed over the phone (615-966-1793), in person, or by accessing your library account at library.lipscomb.edu.
circulation policies for alumni and retired faculty and staff
  • for bison borrowers (alumni and retired faculty), the loan period for books is 21 days with a total of 3 renewals allowed. bison borrowers may check out 3 books at a time.  renewals must be done by phone (615-966-1793) or in person.

late materials

  • starting august 22, 2022, beaman library no longer charges late fees for books in the university general circulating collection, although other types of items may still have late fees.
  • materials in the library's reserve collection, including technology such as ipads and chromebooks, accrue hourly or daily late fees.

              lost materials

  • materials from the university general circulating collection are considered lost when they are 31 days overdue.  materials from the reserves collections are considered lost after 48 hours (2-hour and 24-hour reserves) or 7 days (2-day and 7-day reserves).
  • when an item is lost, the patron's library account and cns account will have a hold placed until the replacement fee is paid or the item in question is returned. this will block the user's ability to register for classes, access transcripts, and graduate.
  • the lost book fee is $50 plus a $10 processing fee. fees may be paid at the library or through touchnet.

 

technology items
  • some technology items are available for checkout to current lipscomb faculty, staff, and students. the fines and replacement fees for these items vary according to cost.
ebooks and databases
  • ebooks, databases and other digital materials are available only to faculty, staff and students who have a university username and password.
  • electronic resources are not available to those who are not currently enrolled or working at 世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 .
