q&a with carson coward, may 2024 ljs graduate
may 1, 2024
with graduation only weeks away, ljs seniors are looking forward to their future careers.
carson coward, a senior who recently obtained a full-time job from her internship was able to give some insight into how her time as an ljs student went at lipscomb.
what courses are you taking in your senior year, and which ones are you most excited about?
i was super fortunate my senior year to have classes that challenged me yet were not super hard. i currently am taking two online classes (sociology/creativity and worship) while working full-time at my internship. this past semester i took my research class and produced my final research paper of college, which focused on rehabilitation and recidivism (my main niche) which ended up being my favorite class of the year.
are there any specific goals or milestones you hope to achieve before graduating?
my main milestone was becoming employed- which as of monday, april 8th, i am! i wanted to find employment that let me work directly with people while also having some clerical aspects, which matched wonderfully with project return. so, after a school year of hard work, i am starting in may right after graduation!
what advice would you give to aspiring ljs students who are about to enter their senior year?
don’t be afraid to ask questions, try new things, and don’t lose sleep. school can be so overwhelming, especially if you’re working as well and having life struggles. no matter what you may face, you are able to persevere. life may feel out of hand sometimes, but god is on your side.
