biography
lauren smelser white has served as assistant professor of theology at lipscomb since 2018 and teaches various undergraduate and graduate courses in bible and systematic, historical, and contextual theology. she holds a ph.d. in theological studies from vanderbilt university (2018), an m.t.s. from vanderbilt (2010), and an m.a. in english from abilene christian university (2006). dr. white’s scholarship has focused on the intersections of hermeneutic praxis, systematic theology, and theological aesthetics, and she has most recently published a book titled flesh made word: the protestant interpretation problem and an embodied hermeneutic (fortress academic, 2022).
