associate professor
emily mofield, ed.d., is an assistant professor of education serving as lead faculty for the gifted and advanced academics graduate program and teaching in the ed.d. program for learning organizations and strategic change. with over 20 years of experience in gifted education, dr. mofield has published numerous research articles, books, and book chapters related to perfectionism, psychosocial skills, collaborative teaching practices, differentiation, and curriculum development in gifted education. dr. mofield has co-authored an award-winning curriculum series for gifted/advanced students and is the co-recipient of the nagc hollingworth award for excellence in research (with megan parker peters). her co-authored book (with vicki phelps) collaboration, coteaching, and coaching in gifted education was recognized as nagc 2021 book of the year.
dr. mofield regularly consults and leads professional development addressing advanced differentiation and collaborative teaching practices for school districts and special groups. she has served various roles with nagc and currently serves on the advisory committee for university of connecticut’s javits project bump-up.
her most recent work includes vertical differentiation: 25 strategies to stretch student thinking and a teacher's guide to curriculum design for gifted and advanced learners. she has also recently co-authored the leap curriculum design guidebook and online modules for nagc (with christine weber).
she enjoys serving her church with her husband, pastor ashley mofield, and being a mother to her beautiful, joyful daughter.
