biography

madonna fajardo kemp has been teaching collegiate level english language and literature courses for over a decade at the university of tennessee at chattanooga, chattanooga state community college, bryan college, and middle tennessee state university. kemp is currently a phd candidate at mtsu, and she has previously earned an ma in rhetoric and composition and a bs in education from utc. her research interests lie with the rhetorical environment of breast cancer patients and the rhetoric of health and medicine, in general.

kemp is the devoted parent of two children (john–a us navy sailor–and emily–a graduate student), and she is passionate about teaching, the welfare and education of children, and soccer (aka fútbol). at lipscomb, kemp will be teaching english 1313 in the fall of 2023.
