biography
practice experience includes over five years with victim witness services in the district attorney's offices in davidson and williamson counties. responsibilities included working with victims and witnesses of crimes, including: domestic violence, home invasions, robberies, thefts, rape and sexual abuse, vehicular homicides, and murders. services provided included assessment of needs, counseling, education and support throughout the court process, advocacy for vulnerable populations, and referral to needed services, as well as macro level coordination with community providers to ensure victim protection and safety. in addition to practice within the court system, crossland served the needs of children and at-risk teens through centerstone behavioral health, housed in murrell school, as well as through oasis center youth emergency shelter. services provided in each of these settings focused on assisting youth and families with crisis intervention, assessing and addressing individual needs and facilitating maximum interpersonal and intrapersonal development through individual, group, and family counseling. crossland currently works pro bono with the brentwood police department providing victim advocacy through education, support, and referral for needed services.
