randy is a native tennessean, having grown up in gainesboro, a small town about 85 miles east of nashville. after undergraduate work at tennessee technological university in cookeville, tn, randy completed a phd in nuclear physics at north carolina state university. he performed reseaarch at duke university as part of his doctoral work. randy and his wife denese live in gainesboro and are the parents of three daughters - deanna, kristi (matt), and brooklyn - and two grandchildren - hallie and dansby. randy has been a preacher for over 25 years and is currently the pulpit preacher for the pippin church of christ in cookeville, tn.
