biography

professor bethy butler has worked in education since 2006, having taught at the elementary, secondary, undergraduate, and graduate levels. bethy's experiences with teaching around the united states and the world has given her opportunities to work with a wide variety of cultures, which she enjoys thoroughly. besides teaching intro to university writing and university writing at lipscomb, bethy has taught various education courses at the graduate level for lipscomb’s college of education and has also taught several writing, literacy, and grammar courses at the undergraduate level at eastern michigan university, new america college in denver, and nashville state. bethy holds degrees in spanish language and literature (b.a., harding university, 2005), english education (m.a., 世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 , 2007), school leadership & administration (ed.s., 世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 , 2016), and instructional & transformational coaching (ed.s., 世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 , 2016).

prior to coming to teach at 世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 in 2014, bethy worked as a school administrator and dean of instruction, and she continues to consult with schools and districts globally and in the nashville area, focusing on english instruction, cultural awareness, and literacy development. her most recent focus is working with non-governmental organizations and nonprofits in community development, intercultural engagement, and sustainable and ethical solutions to poverty as a result of colonization. she currently serves as president of the board for emmaus house haiti.
