biography
jacob arthur is an assistant professor of information security & analytics in the college of business, where he leads the efforts to fuse business, data, and technology. his background includes data analytics, machine leanring modeling, security program strategy and management, security design and assessment, red teaming/penetration testing, and systems design & implementation. during his 20+ year career, jacob has served in multiple senior security and technology roles for national and global scale companies, and also oversees the security, technology, and risk team at formos consulting where he actively practices with clients ranging from start-ups to multi-billion dollar companies.
jacob's background allows him to bring a practical perspective to the classroom, and his experience architecting systems and processes allows him to drive solutions that are both relevant and actionable. jacob is also active in the security & technology communities, contributing to multiple open source projects and actively working to support both local and national industry groups, including being a frequent speaker for isaca, iia, issa, and other local technology interest groups.
