this major meets all knowledge requirements of the accreditation council for education in nutrition and dietetics (acend) for eligibility to apply for a supervised practice program in dietetics. in addition to successful completion of a supervised practice program in dietetics, a master’s degree is required to be eligible to write the registration examination for dietitians as of january 1, 2024. all knowledge requirements must be achieved in order to earn a verification statement of completion of an accredited didactic program in dietetics (dpd.)

a minor in distributive science is built into this program of study.

all courses required for this major must be completed with a grade of “c” or higher or be repeated; assessments of knowledge requirements must be repeated until successfully passed in order to earn a dpd verification statement.
