this course is intended to support students in preparing for the finance mathematics portion of the exams of the society of actuarie;:to develop and demonstrate competence modeling and solving financial problems related to the topics of interest rates, annuities, amoritizations, bonds, returns of investment, and their applications; to be able to do financial valuations by direct calculation, using the financial capacities of calculators and of spreadsheets; and to be able to do problems from the financial mathematics exam of the society of actuaries (or related sections of the casualty actuarial society examd)(but this is not a comprehensive review of that material.)

prerequisite ma 2314 with a minimum grade of “c.”
