ficm 1803 - theatre workshop: practicum (1) f, sp this course teaches the craft of film directing through analysis of the work of classic and contemporary directors. the class also investigates the art and language of filmmaking through these topics: framing and composition, camera angles, camera movement, blocking of actors, visualizing action, creating a sequence, script breakdown, and techniques for establishing mood, character, and conflict. by the end of class students will create a short film of their own. there is a required lab.
prerequisite: th 1533 .
