this course introduces students to visual communication theory and research. considering aspects of visual communication such as imagery, on-line/web content, and other multimedia modalities. students will learn concepts, theories, research findings, aesthetics, and practices of visual communication, ranging from elements of visual persuasion through photographs, graphics, and images. aspects of cultural and ethical issues, visualization of ideas, and visual rhetoric are considered.
