by 1134 - principles of biology: cell and genetics (4) f, sp this course is required for all biology majors and minors and should be taken during the freshman year. this course is designed to introduce the student to major concepts of the life sciences with an emphasis on cellular biology. biological chemistry, organelle structure and function, membrane transport, cell cycles, energy metabolism, genetics and cell synthesis will be covered. appropriate lab activities are included.
lecture, 3 hours; laboratory, 2 hours.
