the college of health sciences (cohs) seeks to train the next generation of healthcare heroes! whether you picture yourself as a nurse, physician assistant, dietitian, researcher or therapist, we’ll prepare you for a life of service and compassion. you’ll collaborate with peers across different disciplines as you learn to tackle the healthcare challenges of our time. most importantly, you’ll be empowered to honor the god-given dignity of every human life through science, skill and understanding, as you engage in faith-filled service as a provider.
the college has a variety of undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees dedicated to the delivery of patient care and well-being. we welcome students seeking purpose along with professional success!
we offer undergraduate studies in three different areas: kinesiology, nutrition, and nursing.
in the department of kinesiology, you may select among a variety of degree plans and programs, including program concentrations for pre-physical therapy and pre-occupational therapy studies within the exercise science degree. the department of nutrition and the school of nursing offer highly-regarded, specialized programs of instruction as detailed below.
the cohs provides exceptional graduate programs in four exciting and competitive areas: cardiovascular perfusion, exercise and human performance, masters in nutrition with dietetic internship, and physician assistant studies. see details below.

undergraduate study
· department of kinesiology offers degrees in exercise science (with pre-ot and pre-pt concentrations), fitness and sports studies, health and physical education, and sport management.
· department of nutrition offers degrees in dietetics and nutrition.
· school of nursing offers a traditional undergraduate bachelor of science in nursing (bsn) degree pathway. this program prepares the student for a career in the health care field as a registered nurse upon successfully passing the national council licensure examination (nclex), in accordance with applicable state licensing requirements. also available in fall 2024 is the accelerated bsn pathway, for persons with degrees in other fields who wish to prepare for a career in nursing.
graduate and professional study
· cardiovascular perfusion program offers a 60-hour master of science in cardiovascular perfusion degree. this is a 22-month continuous program with two semesters of didactic education on campus and three semesters primarily clinically based.
· exercise and human performance offers a 36-hour master’s degree program. students graduate with a m.s. in exercise and human performance.
· school of physician assistant studies offers a 124-hour master of science, 7 semester program that runs year-round. it includes 4 semesters of didactic education and 3 semesters of clinical education.
· master of science in nutrition is a 33-hour master’s degree program that may stand alone or be combined with the dietetic internship program for students who are selected to enroll in the combined program. the combined ms/di is an accredited dietetic internship program (dip), providing both the coursework and the supervised practice needed to be eligible to write the registration examination for dietitians.
