the don r. elliott distinguished presidential lecture series is designed to expose the 世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 campus and the surrounding community to persons of influence in one or more issues of contemporary debate or discussion, with a preference for issues related to economic or political science. an endowment established at lipscomb by the don r. elliott foundation provides primary funding for the elliott distinguished presidential lecture. the lecture series is named in memory of don r. elliott, a native of kerr, arkansas, who was a professor of economics and political science at little rock university, randolph-macon college and vanderbilt university. he founded don elliott and associates, a fundraising consulting firm that directed campaigns for 世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 and a host of other universities, colleges and private schools. no cost to attend, but registration is requested.

parent lunch & learn: “purpose beyond the paycheck”

the average time an individual spends throughout their life on income-earning career work is 90,000 hours. some see this work as a compartment of their lives that has little connection to their faith. others see it as a burden or an obligation to simply make ends meet. and most think about how much money they might make during this span.
led by rob touchstone, director of lipscomb’s center for vocational discovery and co-founder of the well coffeehouse, this lunch and learn will explore how our work can be so much more. join us as we consider the god-designed purpose of work as an opportunity to live out our faith, steward our opportunities, and live on mission at the intersection of faith and work. this session will also feature a spotlight on the well coffeehouse as an example of the kind of impact that can be created in the marketplace. cost is $13 per person.

athletics hall of fame luncheon

celebrate the lipscomb athletics hall of fame class of 2024: tessa hoefle ('14), cross country/track and field; dani walker moore ('14), cross county/track and field; miguel dasilva ('10), men's soccer; and garret pettis ('12), men's soccer. the class includes two men's soccer honorees, marking the first lipscomb men's soccer athletes to enter the hall of fame. cost: $25 per person; $200 for a table of 8.
bisontalk with brown bannister

brown bannister has been working in the music industry for nearly five decades and is best known as a successful mentor and producer for top christian artists. his work includes a broad range of production, engineering, arranging and writing credits across multiple music genres. he has collaborated with artists such as amy grant, b.j. thomas, michael w. smith, steven curtis chapman, kenny rogers, third day, mercyme and cece winans among many others.
in the process of selling more than 50 million records, he has won 15 grammy® awards, more than 20 dove awards and has been named “producer of the year” five times by the gospel music association. he is also a member of the gospel music hall of fame.
listen as he shares about his experiences and calling from the lord that led him from the recording studio to his current role as professor and director emeritus of the lipscomb school of music as well as the senior creative director of imagine house, the production entity of the george shinn college of entertainment and the arts.

join us for a special department of biology open house during lipscomb’s bison’s weekend! this come-and-go event will take place from 2- 4 p.m. in the mcclure faith and science center, immediately located upon entering the mcfarland science center. meet current and former biology faculty, enjoy snacks and desserts, and connect with current students to learn about their exciting work and research experiences. guided tours of our research and anatomy labs with their updated equipment will be available, offering a glimpse into the innovative research and teaching happening in our department.

established in 2020, the lanier center for archaeology houses several academic programs, a collection of over 1,000 artifacts and multiple archaeological projects from the nile to the silk road. visit the lanier center for archaeology to learn more about this exciting program and see how lipscomb is involved in uncovering and interpreting the long-buried material heritage of the bible and the early church.
