overview of financial aid process
step 1 - apply for aid
- use the net price calculator to estimate aid.
- complete the fafsa (free application for federal student aid) each year. school code: 003486
- learn more about the types of aid available.
step 2 - review your financial aid package
congratulations! your admissions counselor will be in touch when your financial aid package is ready to view on your bison portal.
step 3 - complete verification

in some instances, supporting documentation will be required to verify the data you put on the fafsa.the department of education notifies you if you are selected for verification.
the lipscomb financial aid office will notify you of the next steps to satisfy the verification requirements. lipscomb now partners with kheaa for completing many verification items. be sure to respond to any emails you receive from kheaa in a timely manner.
step 4 - accept any loans you might need
- accept / reject loans through mylipscomb student portal
- sign the master promissory note (mpn) and complete the loan entrance counseling at studentaid.gov
- understand repayment for your loans.
step 5 - receive offered aid
- notify the financial aid office of any outside aid.
- make financial arrangements with the business office.
- see award applied to your financial statement.
