trustee scholarship

each year, a select number of incoming freshmen are awarded this prestigious full-tuition scholarship through an interview and application process.

eligibility requirements

to apply for this scholarship, you must have scored a:

  • 30 or higher on the act

         or

  • 1360 or better on the sat

    or
  • a 97 or higher on the clt, including superscores

additionally, applicants must have a cumulative high school gpa of at least 3.5 through the 2023-2024 school year. weighted gpas will be considered. if you receive this scholarship, you are required to live on campus and maintain a gpa of 3.25 or better. this scholarship is not stackable with any other institutional aid. students who apply to the university as test-optional must submit an official test score to be eligible for this scholarship.

how to apply 

the application for fall 2025 will open october 15, 2024. the application submission deadline is january 8, 2025. students must be admitted to the university prior to applying.

  • résumé - a one-page résumé outlining your education, leadership through school, church involvement, work experience and community involvement, and any noteworthy honors or achievements. your résumé will be evaluated on content and professionalism.

  • personal video essay- a two to three-minute video telling us a little about yourself, why you are interested in attending lipscomb, and responding thoughtfully to the prompt below. the video will be created and recorded within your bison portal and will not be evaluated on production quality, but should focus on you as a person. the strategic vision for 世界杯2022预选赛录像回放 , known as impact 360, includes values we strive to embody as an institution and hope you foster during your time as a lipscomb student. they are listed below:

interview

once we have received and reviewed your application, select trustee scholarship applicants will complete an interview with several members of the selection committee, made up of lipscomb faculty, staff and current students. interviews will take place january 24, february 7 and march 1. interview dates and times will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so submit your application materials as soon as possible and check your email to secure your preferred date. all interviews will be conducted in person.

i’m pursuing film to tell compelling stories with messages of hope and joy that can point people to god! it could look like producing hollywood movies or working with local churches, but either way, i hope to impact the lives of many and to use my work to glorify god.

why did you choose lipscomb?
i chose lipscomb because of the amazing, faith-based environment that i experience every time i step on campus. all the faculty is so amazing, and genuinely care about my well-being and success. i also love how i am able to integrate my faith into my major, as well as always having a community around me that wants to help me grow in my relationship with christ.

growing up in a church of christ, i was consistently told about lipscomb. it wasn’t until my years in high school that i began to realize why lipscomb always felt right even before visiting. the university’s diversity, personal professors, and christian atmosphere aided me in my final decision to attend.

why did you choose lipscomb?
when i was looking at colleges, i knew i wanted a place where it was small enough to have really good connections, but big enough to have plenty of opportunities to choose from. lipscomb absolutely fit that for me. i also knew i wanted a school that was christ-centered and helped me grow in my faith. i love that lipscomb is giving me everything i need to be successful in my career, while also building up my relationship with the lord and the people around me.

from my very first visit, lipscomb felt like home. i felt free to explore my interests, but also felt confident i would be able to grow in my faith while growing in knowledge. it was very clear that the lipscomb community would invest in me holistically, not simply as a student but as a person made in the image of god. i was given the opportunity to take a class over the summer before my senior year, and i knew i wanted to spend my college years invested in the unique community lipscomb has to offer. it was very clear that god was calling me to attend lipscomb, and i can confidently say that the lipscomb community is one of the greatest blessings god has given me.

what are your future plans?
i am currently undergoing the launch of a business for my intro to business course, and if that is successful come the end of the course it could be my future plan! i want to get into business so that i can provide for the needs of others in a creative way, whether that means starting a business or simply pushing an existing business to more philanthropic endeavors. ultimately, my goal is to have a lasting impact on those i meet through business by burning brightly in a dark world.

during questweek, the incoming freshman had a silent disco event in the student activities center, and it was so fun! everyone was screaming and dancing to their favorite songs, and taking the headphones off and hearing everyone yelling with no music was hilarious!

what is your favorite lipscomb memory so far?
my favorite lipscomb memory is any moment on this campus!!!! i can't even think of a bad memory. i loved quest week because it gave everyone the opportunity to build friendships and have fun. i have loved the time i've spent in the caf, sitting around a table having life-giving talks over ice cream and cheese bread. i have loved running, working out, or going to exercise classes with other strong and encouraging girls. i have loved getting to know my professors and the people in my class who are kind, funny, passionate, and intelligent.

i wanted to go to a smaller university, i wanted to continue pursuing a christian education, and i wanted a school with strong campus life in a big city. even all these specifications left a lot of schools on the table. what really set lipscomb apart from the rest was how wanted i felt here. i had admission counselors reaching out to me regularly, answering questions for me around the clock, and making sure i had everything i needed to make a decision. that intentionality did not go away once i was enrolled and i am so happy to call this place home now!

my favorite lipscomb memory so far definitely has to be quest week. i was able to meet so many new people and make so many friends that i wouldn't have met otherwise! the activities and quest leaders were also so much fun and i loved the experience!

i am currently double majoring in psychology and spanish. right now i am planning to attend graduate school for counseling and become a bilingual counseling professional in the pediatric mental health realm. i have always had a passion for children, language, and support for mental health and this profession perfectly combines those three!

one of my favorite memories i've made so far was my first gospel choir practice. i love singing in the choir. it was something i really enjoyed in high school. being in the choir is such an amazing time. in the midst of a busy week, without any distractions, we spend two hours just worshiping god with our voices.

my favorite memory so far at lipscomb would have to be the bell tower social during questweek. i had the best rolled ice cream of my life from one of the various options of dessert trucks. the laughs i shared with my friends that night were some of the best ever. the whole atmosphere that night was just very special.
