if you’re a new student applying to lipscomb, just check the box on your application to indicate your interest in the honors college. current students may contact the program director to begin the application process to apply.


what is the process for admission to the honors college?

for new students, admission to the honors college requires a high-school gpa of 3.85 or above; along with a minimum act score of 28, or a minimum sat score of 1310. transfer students who bring a strong academic record from their previous institution are also eligible. and we make exceptions for exceptional students with other notable qualifications! just honors [at] lipscomb.edu (contact us) if you have concerns about admissions requirements.

 

what is the current student process for admission? 

current students with a lipscomb gpa of 3.5 or above may apply for admission to the honors college. two letters of recommendation from lipscomb professors are required.

since its inception in 1946, the fulbright program has sought to foster international cooperation through education, culture and science. the program is open to us students and professionals who have completed a bachelor’s degree. the fulbright program awards approximately 8,000 grants annually and operates in 160 countries. award categories include study/research, english teaching assistant, and digital storytelling.

we offer 90 full-cost scholarships each year to outstanding applicants from countries outside the uk to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the university of cambridge. the selection criteria are:
- outstanding intellectual ability
- leadership potential
- a commitment to improving the lives of others

gilman international scholarship program

the gilman international scholarship program provides funding for undergraduate students who are underrepresented among the u.s. study abroad population from all 50 us states. preference will be given to first-generation college students, community college students, students with disabilities, minority students, and students in under-represented fields like the sciences and engineering. awards will be given to students who intend to study abroad in areas not traditionally chosen for study abroad programs. scholarship awards are awarded to 2,900+ students and are valued at up to $5,000.

the goldwater scholarship program, one of the oldest and most prestigious national scholarships in the natural sciences, engineering and mathematics in the united states, seeks to identify and support college sophomores and juniors who show exceptional promise of becoming this nation’s next generation of research leaders in these fields. the characteristics the foundation seeks include: a strong commitment to research, effective display of intellectual intensity, and potential for a significant future contribution to research in his/her chosen field.

institute for international public policy undergraduate fellowship

the iipp fellowship program provides students from underrepresented minority groups with education and training experiences critical to entry and advancement in international affairs careers. iipp is a comprehensive program of summer policy institutes, study abroad, intensive language training, internships, graduate study, and student services that include mentoring and career development.

lilly graduate fellows program

lilly graduate fellows program

the lilly fellows program is a three year program with cohorts selected and beginning every other year, beginning in the fall of 2019. cohorts will consist of approximately 10 candidates who are pursuing a phd in humanities and arts at their selected institution. lilly fellows will attend 4 conferences over the three year period, will engage in mentorship relationships with senior lily scholars, and will receive an annual $3,000 award. lilly scholars, must be nominated by faculty from their undergraduate institutions, so please contact dr. bradshaw if you are interested in pursuing this award.

marshall scholarship

marshall scholarship

the marshall scholarship is awarded each year to up to 40 students to engage in graduate studies in any field at a uk institution. the purpose of the scholarship is to recognize high achieving us students, and foster a positive, ambassadorial relationship between the us and uk through academic collaboration and research. the scholarship covers all university fees, living expenses, and travel. small stipends may also be made available for a recipient's spouse.

​rhodes scholarship

the rhodes scholarship is a program designed to foster international collaboration at oxford university. every year, 32 us students are selected to receive the award and attend degree courses at oxford university in the united kingdom. students are selected based on their academic achievements, work ethic, and moral character. application deadline is the first wednesday of october each year.

truman scholarship

the truman scholarship is a graduate scholarship awarded to students who have demonstrated interest in pursuing careers as public service leaders. truman scholars are awarded $30,000 to continue their graduate education in public service related fields.
