in our studio art program, you will receive a solid foundation in a variety of artistic mediums, conceptualization and studio practices. with surveys of art history and special topics including christianity and the visual arts, you will gain a deep understanding of the most impactful forms of art. our experienced faculty will guide you with experiential learning. you will leave lipscomb prepared to make a difference and advance the world through your artistic skills, ideas and creativity.

in your last semester, you'll take our capstone professional studio practices and senior exhibition course. your presentation to an adjudicating committee of faculty will include work from previous courses, influences and directions for future growth. it will also include a concise agenda for the capstone.
all students wishing to study in the department of visual arts must submit a portfolio of work for review. these portfolios allow our faculty to evaluate your skill level and ability before you begin the program.
