the truth is that history graduates can be found in any career where superior analytic training and good writing and communication skills are needed. the economy of today requires versatile, nimble minds who can adjust to the constantly changing landscapes of the global economy and the shuffle that occurs within industries and places.  history majors are ideal for this world as they have faced the challenges of the past with the great writers, ideas, figures, and events. graduates gain perspective through their studies and the mentoring of our highly-regarded faculty.

we have pledged ourselves to making history accessible to all lipscomb students. the great ideas in history curriculum serves our students' need to know the contours of progress and culture. our 36-hour major allows students to finish in three years or to add the history major to their primary field of study.
