if you have a curious mind and wonder about the connection between archaeological findings and the bible, then a minor in biblical archeology is something to pursue. in this exciting program, you will be introduced to the major finds of biblical archaeology, as well as how archaeology is conducted with the latest methods and practices. you will also learn how to reveal the context of the bible and discover how the people of the biblical world lived through an examination of their material culture, as well as related ancient artifacts and texts.
lipscomb’s biblical archaeology minor degree is designed for you to tap into the beginnings of professional experience and develop core archaeological skills in a spiritual context. the very foundation of this program is documenting the value of the field of archaeology in the contexts of biblical studies and ancient history. as such, our courses introduce how archaeologists think and analyze material culture to contextualize the bible.
this program is open to all current students. whether you simply have an interest in acquiring knowledge or work in a humanities-based discipline, this archaeology degree will provide an excellent starting point. upon completion of the minor, we hope you will consider pursuing an advanced degree in archaeology or a cognate field to further grow your experience.
